Add Note: Use high-quality saûron for the best üavor. another 1/8 tsp saûron threads without crushing them. True saûron is pricey but adds a lot of üavor with just a small amount. 2. Pour 1/4 cup hot water into the mortar and let it soak for 5 minutes. Rinse and drain basmati rice. 3. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat and sauté minced onion for 10 minutes until soft and caramelized. 4. Add the rinsed rice and sauté for 1 minute with the onion. 5. Pour the saûron liquid over the rice. Add stock and salt, bring to a boil, stir, and boil for 30 seconds. 6. Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook for 20 minutes. 7. Turn oû the heat and let it steam for 10 more minutes. 8. Fluû the rice with a fork before serving.
